ABOUT
COP29, the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference, took place from November 11 to 22, 2024, in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The summit brought together world leaders, government officials, climate activists, and NGOs to address urgent climate issues, with a primary focus on setting a ‘New Collective Quantified Goal (NCQG) on Climate Finance’.
This new financial target aims to support developing countries in their climate action efforts, building on the work of previous COPs.
COP29 will also covered key areas such as sustainable energy transitions, climate justice, and methane reduction, further advancing the goals of the Paris Agreement and global climate solidarity.

THE CHALLENGE
Azerbaijan’s leadership was focused on delivering a flawless event, ensuring participants could concentrate on achieving the ambitious climate goals set for COP29.
Managing the movement of heads of state and government required seamless coordination of airport operations, accommodation, protocol services, and motorcade movements.
Beyond these high-level logistics, there was need for meticulous operational planning across all guest groups to ensure smooth integration and a world-class guest experience.
THE SOLUTION
Trivandi embedded a team of specialists to assist in planning and delivering COP29.
Senior team members worked alongside the event’s leadership to address operational gaps, develop solutions, and lead complex integrations under tight deadlines.
The team’s responsibilities included Senior Leadership Advisory, Central Planning PMO, Protocol Operations, Airport and Transport Logistics, Guest Experience Assurance and ensuring sustainability throughout the event.

With a focus on limiting global temperature increases to 1.5°C, the event enabled world leaders to discuss enhanced Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) to address the climate crisis.
