ABOUT
COP28 was the 28th United Nations Climate Change conference, held from 30 November to 12 December 2023 at Expo City, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Over 70,000 World Leaders, Government Ministers, Negotiators, NGOs, IGOs, Sponsors, Youth Champions, Climate Activists and Media descended on Expo City’s ‘Blue Zone’ to review progress against the Paris Climate Agreement and work together to achieve actionable solutions. Members of the public were able to visit the ‘Green Zone’ to understand how they could play their role as climate actionists.

THE CHALLENGE
The UAE’s Leadership sought to ensure the flawless delivery and exceptional guest experience for this crucial global event so that participants could focus on achieving the overarching goal of a ‘COP of action’. This required managing the movements of over 154 Heads of State and Government through the seamless delivery of airport operations, accommodation, protocol services and motorcade movements. It also required smooth and efficient operations for all other guest groups through meticulous planning and operational integration across multiple functional areas.
THE SOLUTION
Trivandi embedded a team of 49 specialists throughout the planning and delivery phases, including senior team members who worked in partnership with the event’s leadership team to identify gaps, drive solutions and lead the complex operational integration under very tight timescales.
Trivandi’s remit included Senior Leadership Advisory, Central Planning PMO, C3 and MOC Operations, Protocol Operations, Airport and Transport Logistics, Operational Integration, Crowd Management, Guest Experience Assurance, and Sustainability Assurance.
THE RESULT
Trivandi’s contribution to the event’s smooth and efficient operations and exceptional guest experience enabled participants to successfully set out a robust action plan to mitigate the effects of global climate change and limit temperature rises to 1.5C.
Additionally, the largest-ever attendance at a COP were able to enjoy the UAE’s warm hospitality and a unique COP experience that enriched cultural understanding
The event reinforced COP28's role as a pivotal forum for impacting global climate efforts and showcased Dubai’s capability in hosting major international conferences.
