THE CHALLENGE
Abu Dhabi’s Department for Community Development wanted to conduct an assessment of its community and elite sports facilities and infrastructure, as part of its overall ambition to increase sports participation in a sustainable manner and establish Abu Dhabi as a global leader on the international sporting event map and in alignment with the Active Abu Dhabi Sports Vision 2024.
THE SOLUTION
Trivandi consolidated and validated multiple data points to ascertain a true list of sport venues and facilities that are operational within Abu Dhabi. The team conducted assessments and analysis of over 250 facilities across the Emirate, identifying gaps in availability of facilities for community use in alignment with available participation data. Furthermore, elite facilities were assessed according to talent pathway development and the vision to host major international tournaments and events.
THE RESULT
Trivandi’s analysis provided critical data to develop the strategic roadmap and technical and operational models for a successful sports facility strategy, including recommendations for increasing sports participation, and the identification of opportunities to host major sports events in Abu Dhabi.
