Last week some of our London team supported the tackle against food poverty in Southwark.
Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. Southwark Foodbank supports around 100 households each week with emergency food parcels which feed a household for at least three days.
Our team volunteered with community development charity, Pecan to buy, sort and create emergency food packages at Peckham Pantry. This involved shopping for the most important food items, weighing 180kg worth of food, and then sorting everything into categories to support the creation of the emergency packages. Our team’s donation made around 16-20 packages.
